Ferrous impurities form when iron or steel oxidizes. Abrasive and often microscopic, the impurities can deposit onto heat exchanger surfaces and accumulate in pump cavities, causing reduced thermal efficiency and premature wear.
The new Caleffi flanged DIRTMAG® is a commercial dirt separator that is especially effective at removing ferrous impurities. As fluid enters the separator, the impurities are attracted to and captured by a concentrated magnetic field created by a stack of powerful neodymium rare-earth magnets housed inside a brass sleeve located beneath the flow stream.
With 2½ times the ferrous impurity removal performance of standard separators, DIRTMAG removes up to 100% of total system impurities.
