NIBCO INC. announces new connection options for its existing Webstone Y-strainer products.

The new Webstone lead-free, dezincification-resistant (DZR) strainers are available with new G-thread bodies that are compatible with a host of fittings and accessories for a custom installation, providing users with flexibility.

Options include a forged DZR brass Y-strainer and the patented Pro-Pal® Ball Drain Strainer™; an integrated ball valve, capped hose drain, and Y-strainer that isolates, drains, and strains any portion of a piped system. Also available are Y-strainers with sweat connections.

“This line expansion is a direct response to our customers’ feedback,” said Lisa Lyon, Webstone general manager. “After introducing the original set of strainers, the case for additional models in the sweat connection was made by our partners in the field. At the same time, customers also enjoy the flexibility of our G-Series products, which expand the size range, connection types, and application options of products featuring straight-thread bodies. We saw this as our opportunity to offer customizable solutions for strainer applications. We’re proud of our commitment to continuously enhance the Webstone product line to meet the needs of our customers.”

Stone Mountain Technologies, Inc., an innovative manufacturer of thermally-driven heat pump systems, announces North American market availability of its Anesi branded heating products for residential and commercial customers in February 2024.

Anesi gas heat pumps are air-to-water heat pumps and use natural gas, propane, or renewable gas as the primary fuel source.  They use up to 50% less fuel and work at efficiencies well above 100% even in below zero temperatures.

Unlike traditional furnaces and boilers, the Anesi gas heat pump and all refrigerants, combustion processes, and venting are located outside.  Only a warm water / food-grade glycol mixture enters the home through standard PEX or copper piping.  Our natural refrigerant is environmentally friendly, will not harm the ozone layer, and will not break down into harmful, lifetime chemicals like PFAS.

Homes and businesses that use gas or propane for heating now have a solution that reduces their emissions at a lower cost and without sacrificing comfort and reliability, even at very low outside temperatures.

“An Anesi gas heat pump will reduce the energy used for space heating and water heating by 30 to 50%, so you will see a significant difference in your heating bill and a corresponding reduction in your CO2 footprint,” said Stone Mountain Technologies, Inc. CEO Michael Garrabrant. “We have a whole family of Anesi products under development; we’re just getting started and see limitless possibilities for this technology.”

The WaterCube 100 (WC-100) is an IoT-enabled home and office appliance that is the size of an HVAC unit and sustainably generates more than 100 gallons of fresh water daily from the air around it — enough for a household of four. The WaterCube 100 uses Renewable Water from Air (RWA) technology that mimics nature’s process of extracting water from the air.
Designed for ease of maintenance and reliability, the WaterCube 100 represents a technological leap forward and a significant change from conventional water sourcing methods, such as municipal supplies, wells, or drought-prone bodies of water. It supplies homeowners with enough clean, drinkable water to meet their household’s daily water demand, reducing or eliminating dependence on municipal water grids or wells. Created for home or office, WaterCube 100 (WC-100) allows users to produce fresh water quickly. From the moment WaterCube 100 powers on, users gain peace of mind knowing they have clean, affordable water their way.

Ambient Hydronic Heat Pump, electrification, decarbonization, plumbing, heating and cooling, HVAC, U.S. Boiler Co.The Ambient Air-to-Water Hydronic Heat Pump is introduced by U.S. Boiler Company for residential customers looking to upgrade their hydronic systems with the most efficient electric option available.

The new heat pump has a 5-ton capacity (rated at 60 MBH) and provides reliable space heating with outdoor temperatures as low as -13°F.  Offering a COP of up to 3.95 (395% efficiency) and delivering supply temperatures of up to 140°F, the Ambient Heat Pump offers significant energy savings over conventional electric heating systems.

Installation is simple, whether the monoblock heat pump is installed in a new residence or is retrofitted into an existing hydronic system.   It’s also easy to install as a stand-alone heat source or in dual-fuel applications.

The heat pump uses environmentally friendly R-32 refrigerant for high efficiency and low global warming potential.  Its DC inverter Enhanced Vapor Injection (EVI) technology is extremely quiet, with operating sound levels as low as 39 decibels at two-foot distance (quieter than most refrigerators).

The Ambient Heat Pump is available with an optional dual-fuel controller for applications in extremely cold climates.  The controller, as part of a kit, allows the installer to seamlessly integrate the heat pump with a new or existing fossil fuel or electric boiler.  No additional venting or re-sizing of existing hydronic piping is necessary.

The new system is available as a stand-alone unit, or as part of two different packages, depending on whether the heat pump will be the only source of hydronic heat in the home or in tandem with a boiler.

Both packages include a 5.7-inch touchscreen controller which is mounted inside the home.  Other packaged accessories include a 40-gallon buffer tank with backup heating elements, a Taco® 0013 circulator, circulator flange kit, flat plate heat exchanger, pressure relief valve, drain valve, and relays.  The dual fuel package also includes the dual fuel controller.

U.S. Boiler Company has launched an Electrification Program to assist homeowners and contractors in adopting air-to-water heat pumps.  Visit www.usboiler.net to learn more about the products and enroll in the program.

The latest evolution of the leading U.S. designer and manufacturer’s reliable and efficient NeoTherm line delivers enhanced functionality and easy installation for a variety of applications

Laars® Heating Systems, a leading U.S. designer and manufacturer of boilers, water heaters, and pool heaters used in residential, commercial, and industrial applications, announces the release of the new NeoTherm® XTR commercial boilers and volume water heaters.

The NeoTherm XTR is available as a condensing boiler or volume water heater, with venting up to 150 equivalent feet, has top water and gas piping connections, and can be common-vented, offering increased installation flexibility. NeoTherm XTR units have AHRI certified 96%-plus thermal efficiencies, a reliable low pressure-drop stainless steel heat exchanger, and 10:1 combustion turndown.

“The NeoTherm XTR marks the evolution of our field-proven NeoTherm product line,” said Chuck O’Donnell, director of marketing for Laars Heating Systems. “Listening to feedback from our heating professionals, we kept the features in the NeoTherm they liked and added new features that make the NeoTherm XTR even better — more robust, easier to install, and with enhanced control functionality that better serves a wide variety of installation requirements.”

Each NeoTherm XTR uses the powerful LaarsLinc® icon-driven control system that includes Laars Vari-Prime® pump control. Laars Vari-Prime controls a variable speed boiler pump to maintain a fixed, user-selectable, boiler temperature rise, maximizing total installed efficiency.

The Laars Linc intuitive control system with color touchscreen has an easy to navigate control structure that displays key performance measures, a quick start option, and a USB input for parameter upload. It easily connects to building automation systems via on board BACnet or Modbus protocols and has many other features, including the ability to cascade up to eight units.

NeoTherm XTR boilers and volume water heaters are available in six sizes, from 399 to 1500 MBH for natural gas applications.
