The Hub recently caught up with Jim to talk about his experience with Viessmann Vitocrossal 300 (CU3) boiler. Here is what Jim had to say:

We have been installing the Viessmann Vitocrossal 300 (Cu3) boiler for almost a year now with about 40 in service. Viessmann has provided a product that out performs anything they have done in the past.

I saw this boiler in operation many years ago in Germany and was extremely pleased to see it come to U.S. markets. Its high volume, basically zero pressure drop boiler allows for the simplest installation, of any high efficiency boiler I have seen (no primary secondary piping)  other than their CM2 commercial boilers we install.

They are super efficient and  beyond quiet; customers cant believe it when I tell them boiler is running. Paired with a Viessmann EVI-53 domestic tank, using the Vitotronic control system, and internal Lambda Pro control on my favorite matrix burner, we are always checking gas values for optimum efficiency of system.

With its titanium steel heat exchanger, Godbout says its one of the most efficient boilers on the market.

We love using CU3 with radiant and panels rads which is our most typical application, offering customers comfort and sustainable heating system.

We have been installing high-efficiency gas wall-hung boilers since 2001, and have seen many fail at very young age.

I use the word sustainable often with Viessmann, their heat exchanger is not replicated by anyone—titanium stainless. We clean boilers in service now for 12+ years and the heat exchangers look like new. I cant say that for some other boilers in market place.

We love the control system by Viessmann its very easy to use and very customer friendly from earlier versions back in the ’90s we used to work with.
