Final pipe connections on the @viessmann_us Vitocal 100 hydronic heat pump system at the #duluthbuild project with @mick_plumb
I sized the piping to 1-1/4” oxygen barrier PEX-a (@uponorna) with the help of my rep Jay Baars, @fourmationsales
Andy and I have worked together just a couple times but I can’t think of someone I wouldn’t pick first for an install competition. He’s one of the smartest and talented guys I know. #maketradesgreatagain

Somebody help me out here. Was moved to an ADA compliant hotel room after my first room was leaking from the ceiling. This shower did not have a “lip” so the water pooled on the actual bathroom floor. A lot of it. Notice the floor drain in the middle of the bathroom floor—which was odd—but floor wasn’t sloped for water to reach it. Creating this ADA shower now has increased risks of slippage, mold, etc. ... Space is at a premium in the DC area as friend Dan Foley was called in to help a fellow contractor troubleshoot an inoperable zone off of the boiler. Occam’s Razor—a problem-solving principle that suggests the simplest explanation is often the best—was the answer with a faulty check and zone valve.

Tech Transformation Tuesday
From its early days in the 1970s, the 007 revolutionized the industry with its compact design and efficient performance. Since then, the circulator has evolved with the needs of the industry. Taco has consistently enhanced the pump’s design with modern materials and precision engineering, allowing it to withstand the rigors of everyday use while maximizing energy efficiency.
In the last decade, Taco made a groundbreaking shift with the introduction of the 007e ECM high-efficiency circulator. ECM technology represents a significant leap forward in energy efficiency, performance, and sustainability. The 007 ECM circulator helped Taco set a new benchmark for eco-friendly and cost-effective solutions. ECM motors use up to 85% less energy than their AC counterparts, making them a smarter choice for homeowners and businesses seeking to reduce their environmental footprint while enjoying superior heating comfort and reliability.

Be careful out there
Auburn Fire and Auburn Police Departments Maine responded to a fire coming from a manhole that was currently under construction. Crews were able to extinguish the fire within minutes, but it took several hours to get the remaining hot spots out that were underground. The cause of the fire is believed to be related to a fueling accident at the construction site that ignited the underground resin liner that was being installed. One worker was injured and transported to the hospital.
